My campaign plans were not designed for media appearances and debates- Tinubu

Comments · 340Views

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has lashed out at the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party, Peter Obi, for criticizing his absence from the Arise TV town hall meeting on Sunday ev

Tinubu, who criticised the town hall gathering held at Transcorps as badly organised, stated that media appearances and debates were not part of his campaign strategy.
Monday's press statement from the APC presidential candidate's director of media and publicity, Bayo Onanuga, stated this.
The former governor of Lagos State insisted that he would not be railroaded into media appearances or discussions.
The statement said, in part, "We read with amusement the ludicrous position of the Atiku/Okowa Campaign Council and Labour Party/Peter Obi on the absence of our presidential candidate, Aswáj Bola Ahmed Tinubu, from the badly planned Town Hall debate session hosted by Arise TV."
Two unsuccessful presidential campaign offices attempted to make an issue out of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's well-reasoned decision to adopt his own campaign strategy in separate press releases.
"
The position advocated by the Atiku/Okowa campaign spokesperson was the more ridiculous of the two. Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP), did not attend the Arise News Town Hall Meeting. "Yet his spokesman, out of joblessness and lack of productive venture, attacked our candidate, perhaps in search of media mileage that their campaign desperately needs to divert attention from their failing presidential bid." We feel that even a court jester should engage in some self-reflection. If this had been completed, the statement would not have been required.

"Instead of explaining to Nigerians why the PDP's presidential candidate has not returned from a purposeless trip to the United States, where he and 15 other peripatetic adults received the cold shoulder from key US officials, the PDP's spokesperson is busy chasing shadows."
"We wish to reiterate for the PDP and LP's attention that Asiwaju Tinubu would not be coerced into media appearances and debates."
