Community Guidelines

Ndigbo worldwide community guidelines

INTRODUCTION

Our community guidelines are for all types of content and all users of Ndi-Igbo Worldwide around the world.

It states unallowed content and, in other cases, content requiring more information to work on and content that can only be posted or viewed by adults between the ages of 18 and above.

Our platform supports the daily sharing of experiences among family and friends and the promotion of community growth.

It gives a forum for Igbos to express themselves unrestrictedly.

We consider how crucial it is that individuals be able to share their compelling stories in our community, and we take responsibility for ensuring a peaceful, abuse-free atmosphere as we outline the dos and don'ts on Ndi-Igbo Worldwide.

Our stance on speaking out

Our goal for community guidelines is simply to give Ndi-Igbo a voice and a platform to speak freely. We want them to open up freely about pressing issues, even if some may have objections or disagree. We might also publish content that violates our guidelines if it's newsworthy, so long as public appeals outweigh detrimental hazards. We do this only when the scales balance general requests and harmful risks.

Expression is vital, and we give an unwavering commitment, despite the abuses that constantly come from the Internet. As a result, we may limit expression for practical reasons, such as:

Authenticity

We see to it that the contents seen on Ndi-Igbo Worldwide are authentic. with hopes that this will create a better environment for sharing so that people don't get caught up in misrepresenting themselves or what they do while using Ndi-Igboworldwide.

Safety

We pledge to ensure the safety of Ndi-Igbo worldwide. Consequently, content that threatens users is considered private. We assure the privacy and security of your information. Privacy enables users to be themselves and determine when and how much information to reveal on the site.

Dignity

We understand that all individuals ought to be treated with decency and dignity. We expect people to treat others with respect and to not disturb or demean them.

Violence and incitement

We try to protect against any offline harm that could be caused by Ndi-Igbo Worldwide content anywhere in the world. People frequently express disapproval by threatening others or subtly instigating violence. Languages that incite such violence are removed. We suspend accounts and remove content.

Do not post:

Statements that could result in death (or other severe kinds of violence) or acknowledgement of earlier violent acts committed against people or places when the threat is any of the following:

  • Declarations of intent to engage in highly violent behaviour. This includes content that uses a sign to denote the intended victim or shows an instrument of violence.

  • Calls for extreme violence, including contents in which the target is not named but represented by a symbol and contains images of weapons or other signs of violence.

  • Statements admitting to perpetrating acts of severe violence unless made in the context of repentance, self-defence, or when carried out by members of the military, law enforcement, or state security.

  • Content that requests, acknowledges, or offers to kill others for pay (such as hiring assassins through the employment of killers, mercenaries, or assassins) or promotes using an assassin as a hitman, mercenary, or assassin against a target.

Guidelines on how to make or use weapons should be provided showing:

  • Language outlining the objective, or

  • Media that depict or replicate possible outcomes (severe injury or death) as part of the lesson.

  • Unless the content, as mentioned earlier, is distributed as a kind of leisurely self-defence, for military training, in connection with commercial video games, or as news (posted by a Page or with a news logo).

Giving lessons on how to create or use explosives is prohibited unless it is clear that the contentl is for a non-violent intent (for instance, as part of a commercial video game, with a clear scientific or educational purpose, fireworks or fishing specifically).

We prohibit people or organizations with known involvement in violent missions from having a place on Ndi-Igbo Worldwide. This is to enable us to regulate and prevent actual harm. We acknowledge that users may share information about dangerous organizations and people to expose, criticize, or reasonably discuss them. We draft our policies to allow for these kinds of discussions. However, we require that users clearly state their objectives because they risk being ignored if they are not clear.

Facilitating criminal activity and harm coordination

To curb and control offline misconduct, we disallow people from inciting or participating in criminal activities directed towards other people and their properties.
