ASK THE ARMY TO RESPECT CIVIL AUTHORITY AND THE LIFE OF CITIZENS.

Chuks Ibegbu, the most recent person to hold the position of spokesman for Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has issued a warning about the potential for further strife and civil war in Nigeria.

Ibegbu, speaking to the media on the occasion of Armed Forces Remembrance Day, requested that the Army respect civil authorities as well as democratic institutions.

He issued a warning to those in charge of security not to harass law-abiding citizens of Nigeria and condemned the use of the ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE SYNDROME by those in charge of security in Nigeria.

Ibegbu lamented the fact that so many innocent people had to die as a result of the civil war and other crises in Nigeria, and he issued a warning against any military engagement in politics.
