On Friday, the National Population Commission (NPC) in Anambra State announced that, in preparation for the April Population and Housing Census, it had so far screened a total of 1,175 facilitators and special workforce members.

During the closing ceremony of a 10-day state level training of Data Quality Managers (DQMs) in the state, the Federal Commissioner in the state, Mr. Chidi Ezeoke, presented this information to the attendees.

He stated that the Commission had insisted on a robust and transparent screening process of ad hoc employees in order to ensure that applications containing specific faults, including impersonations, were dictated and dropped.

"The screening procedure has been carried out in an open and honest manner. To this point, we have conducted screenings on 728 facilitators and 431 special works across the state.

"These officers are going to train enumerators, supervisors, data quality assistants, and others in the various local government areas of the state," he added. "These officers are going to train enumerators, supervisors, and data quality assistants."

Ezeoke urged the Data Quality Managers (DQMs) to take the assignment seriously in order to ensure that the digital census would be credible, reliable, and verifiable. He described the Data Quality Managers (DQMs) as the most important Information and Communication Technology personnel in the digital Census.
