It is now recommended that patients infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus isolate themselves for ten days if they exhibit symptoms and five days if they do not.
The World Health Organization previously advised 13 days of isolation for infected individuals with symptoms and 10 days for those without symptoms.
It now also suggests fast antigen testing for affected individuals to determine if the virus has gone in order to potentially reduce isolation time.
The WHO based its recommendations on over 3,000 participants in 12 research.
These are only recommendations, and each nation may set its own regulations.
