Ms Asinnobi addressed the association's scientific conference and annual general meeting in Kano on Wednesday.
She stated that the conference's theme, 'Current Concepts in Acute Kidney Injury Prevention and Management,' was appropriate and aimed at minimising the illness burden in the country.
According to her, members of the association from all across the country gathered in Kano to discuss current trends in the prevention and treatment of kidney disease and kidney damage.
Ms Asinnobi stated that the management of chronic kidney illness is capital intensive and therefore out of reach for the poor and middle-income earners, highlighting the importance of stakeholder collaboration to lessen the burden.
"We have a large burden of acute renal illness, and (it) is becoming more prevalent as countries throughout the world cannot afford care," she explained.
Ms Asinnobi, as a result, urged the government to provide equipment in health facilities for the treatment of kidney diseases, and urged corporate organisations and stakeholders to do the same.
She also advocated for kidney care to be included in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to alleviate the patient's financial burden.
