He stated that Atiku was unwilling to perform the courageous and arduous labour necessary to develop a better nation, preferring instead to sell the nation's assets to the highest bidder, while Obi would rather save money and leave the people to starve.
Saturday during an APC rally in Akure's Democracy Park, Tinubu claimed categorically that neither city dwellers nor farmers benefitted during Obi's tenure as governor of Anambra state.
He stated, "On February 25, I am certain you will once again promote progressive politics. This date marks a rendezvous with destiny for the nation and for each of us individually.
"We must not only make this appointment, but also emerge from it totally committed to building a society that is more wealthy, safer, tolerant, and vibrant.
"However, these things do not occur by chance. These are merely a few of the benefits that progressive and democratic good governance can produce. And this progressive government can only be provided by someone who has already governed in a progressive manner."
Tinubu, taking aim at Atiku and Obi, stated that the former Vice President did not care that his ideas and actions would lead to the impoverishment of the people.
Tinubu continued, "He is unwilling to perform the courageous and arduous labour necessary to develop a better nation. He would prefer to sell your inheritance to the highest bidder and flee with the cash.
"He does not care that his policies and deeds would leave you impoverished and destitute."
The former governor of Lagos emphasised that Obi has the opportunity to demonstrate his progressive nature as governor of Anambra State.
He emphasised, "All he could do was brag about saving money. But I say it is a terrible dad who carries money in his hand while allowing his children to go hungry.
"Similarly, it is a callous governor who withholds funds while people are starving and schools, roads, and clinics are in disrepair. Under his rule, neither city dwellers nor farmers flourished.
"Ultimately, he refused to save the individuals in order to save money. And he claims to represent the labour party. You must be suffering from a terrible delusion if you believe he will perform better for the nation than he did for Anambra State.
Tinubu stated that Nigerians cannot commit their future to Atiku, who is willing to sell the country's assets, or Obi, who is notoriously miserly.
He stated, "One observation reveals the difference between my leadership and that of Mr. Obi. Although Lagos is crowded and Anambra has ample space, more people left Obi's Anambra for Tinubu's Lagos in search of a better life than left Tinubu's Lagos believing that Obi had devised a growth plan for Anambra.
"My people, you cannot leave your destiny or the future of our country to Mr. Sell Everything Atiku and Mr. However, you can rely on Mr. Progressive Good Governance Tinubu!
Governors Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Babajide Sanwo-olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), former Osun State governor Gboyega Oyetola, and APC National Secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore, who represented National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu, attended the event.
