The traditional monarch was detained for many hours before being granted bail.
Prior to her murder, Precious worked as a housekeeper for Mrs. Ujunwa Ugwoke of Fidelity Estate in Enugu.
Mrs. Ugwuoke allegedly admitted to beating Precious to death and then dumping her body along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
The Civil Rights Realization and Advancement Network (CRRAN), through its President Olu Omotayo Esq., petitioned the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, citing the deceased's father, James Achikpi Korshima, as alleging the body was set ablaze by villagers.
According to Omotayo, Korshima stated that when the police arrived at the scene, they discovered that the traditional ruler of the community had given the youngsters the order to burn the decomposing body due to the bad odour emanating from it.
He further claimed that the traditional ruler committed an illegal act by failing to notify security agents of the existence of the corpse in his realm.
"We propose that this is a clear case of murder, and the investigation of the case has nothing to do with the Anti-Kidnapping Base," the petition stated.
"We urge you to immediately direct that a comprehensive investigation of this terrible murder be conducted out by the Homicide branch of the State Criminal and Investigation Department (State CID), of the State Police Headquarters, Enugu.
"Ujunwa Ugwuoke murdered the small child in a harsh and savage manner and discarded the corpse in the bush, while the traditional ruler in question finished the illegal crime by ordering the corpse's burning."
Korshima also made an appeal for justice, adding that he believes he would not receive justice because he has become irritated after visiting the Anti-Kidnapping Base for almost a month.
Korshima also requested that the remains of his deceased child be returned to him so that he may give the child a proper burial.
