The ruling government has reportedly intimidated and suppressed opposition parties ahead of the 2023 elections.
Denying individuals the ability to choose is profoundly undemocratic.
Ebonyi State's government should be no different.
In the following days, we'll ask the state government to let democracy breathe.
Posters and banners should be allowed in public locations.
A manifestly unlawful, so-called State Executive Order made it impossible for me and other non-APC members to exercise ourselves, project our manifestos, and reach out to people from a public platform.
Thus, Ebonyi State's current government was formed. Why won't Ebonyi's current government let others emerge? The electorate and God hold authority. Government agents target individuals, posters, and banners. I giggle because this won't win votes.
When I brag, I'll receive votes. I've created roads, bridges, hospitals, and schools in Afikpo and Edda.
Even if I don't put up a poster or banner until election day, people will speak loudly about what's good. We urge Ebonyi State's government to end campaign intimidation.
What should the police do?
Police shouldn't let non-state actors take over their duties. When non-state actors may stand beside the road, wave down automobiles, and harass people, chaos ensues. Such situations have often led to anarchy and lawlessness.
The state-established Ebubeagu Security Outfit may be utilised in the 2023 elections. You agree?
Media should know better. Ebonyi State must be one of Nigeria's 36 states. Not ours. As elsewhere, so here.
When you construct new rules, regulations, and engagements for Ebonyi State inhabitants that conflict with the Federal Republic's rules of engagement, they're better off not trying.
It's bad for them, the state, and the country's democracy.
What do you anticipate from your employees in 2023? Sure they collected PVC?
People are encouraged to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). So they can control the process. We attempt to encourage PVC collection. I want to believe that in the next few weeks, when ward-level collection begins on January 6, 2023, we will undertake enough sensitization to guarantee people receive PVCs and vote for trustworthy state leaders.
You gave your constituents gifts and other generosity at a Yuletide gathering. What prompted this?
Everyone is home now.
It's a moment to show family, friends, and constituents love.
I gathered my people to celebrate Christmas and wish them a happy new year.
