Enugu CP: Security and safety are top priorities

Ahmed Ammani, the commissioner of police for the state of Enugu, has guaranteed the protection and safety of the population throughout and after the holiday season.

"According to the order of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, and to put into action the operational and intelligence-driven plan to keep people safe during and after the Christmas and New Year's celebrations, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, Ahmed Ammani, said in a statement made available to journalists in Enugu on Friday by the police spokesmen of the state command, Daniel Ndukwe.

The Commissioner told them to patrol all highways, streets, and places of interest to the public in plain sight and make sure the safety and security of the people.

He also told the people in charge of the State Traffic Department and the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) to make sure that a lot of people are sent out to deal with the expected increase in traffic in Enugu metropolis and other places in the state, as well as to collect the necessary, reliable, and actionable information and intelligence for crime prevention.

He also told the deputy commissioners of police in charge of the Department of Operations and the State CID Enugu to make sure that all operational and intelligence/investigation activities are properly supervised and coordinated. This is all part of the command's plan to make sure that Yuletide is safe and secure in 2022.

The CP congratulated Ndi Enugu State both at home and abroad as they celebrated Christmas and New Year's with Christians all over the world (2023). He makes sure that the security and safety of the people are still the command's top priorities during and after the holiday.

So, he told everyone to enjoy the holiday in a responsible way and to love and care for each other, especially the poor and needy.

"In order to do this, the good people of the state have been asked to always follow the law, stay alert, and quickly report suspected criminals and their activities to the nearest police station or by calling the command's emergency hotlines at 08032003702, 08075390883, 08098880172, or 08086671202, or by sending an email to infoenugupolice@gmail.com."
