The Christian Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki hosted the first State Merit Award ceremony.
The State Council of Traditional Rulers, led by Eze Charles Mkpuma, conferred "Ochendo 1 of Ebonyi" on the Governor.
The governor was also named "Ike Umuokorobia 1 of Africa" by the youths and the Elders Council, led by Engr Ben Okah.
"Ebubedike Ndigbo" Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN, Ebonyi State branch) recognised him as "Father of the Nation"
Charles Mkpuma, state chairman of the traditional rulers council, said Governor Umahi gave citizens a sense of self-worth.
Before Umahi, traditional rulers were neglected.
He said Umahi's administration raised the social status of traditional rulers in the state through empowerment programmes, and the title was a token of appreciation for all he's done for the royal fathers.
"If the State House of Assembly can extend a governor's term, we would ask for that," Mkpuma said.
The CAN argued that Governor Umahi's transformation of the state was not ordinary, but rather the result of a strong faith in God.
Over 75 national and international awards for good governance, accountability, and excellence were also displayed. SFTAS awards include best prudent and accountable governor and best in infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development.
Sun Newspaper, New Telegraph, and other media organisations awarded "Man of the Year" for years for excellence in governance.
