A mobile money and bank agent said this in a video. He said that a customer used the fake copy of the redesigned N1,000 to do a bank transaction through his wife's Point of Sale (PoS).
He then showed in the video how the real redesigned N1,000 note was different from the fake one.
He said that the original note has a gold seal at the bottom of the right side, and if you scratch the seal, you can't get rid of it.
On the other hand, the old one doesn't have a gold seal near the signatures at the bottom of the right side.
On December 15, 2022, the CBN put out the new naira notes. But the banks are still using the old bills to pay for things. They said that there were not enough of the new bills to go around the economy. So, it had to come out in pieces along with the old notes.
