Kanu said this in a statement written by his main lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor. He also said that Ekpa's actions went against what IPOB stands for.
Ndiigboworldwide reported during the week of the court proceedings that have started again Ekpa.
The controversial IPOB member who lives in Finland has been pushing for people in the southeast of Nigeria to "sit at home."
Kanu says that in the statement, Ejiofor said that Ekpa should be looked into for what he did.
Kanu told the lawyer, "Simon Ekpa is not a member of IPOB," the lawyer said. He should be looked into for the deaths in the southeast, and he shouldn't be fighting for the Biafran people's right to choose for themselves.
"It's clear what happened. Simon Ekpa is being paid by people we can't name right now to destroy the South-East. He can't say he's fighting for Biafra's freedom while also encouraging criminals to attack the people he says he's fighting for.
"Somewhere, people from the Eastern Security Network are killing our people who have done nothing wrong." This should tell you that Ekpa is just following orders from people who want to take over our land. Ekpa doesn't follow me.
He can't say that he is my student or follower. I disagree with what Simon Ekpa did.
"I never gave Ekpa permission to tell people to stay home." IPOB never gave permission or okayed it. Ignore Ekpa's threats and keep doing what you normally do. He is one of the people who don't want peace in our area. "Ekpa is not working for me or IPOB."
