This was said by Kanu's lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, in a tweet on Thursday, after he had met with the leader of the self-determination group at the DSS headquarters in Abuja as he does every week.
Ejimakor said that he went to see Kanu's brother, Prince Emma Kanu, and Kanu's lawyer, Nnaemeka Ejiofor, along with the leader of the IPOB.

The DSS told the Ejimakor that there wasn't enough money to buy food for Kanu, so he hasn't eaten today.
"Today, Prince Emma Kanu, Barrister Nnaemeka Ejiofor, and I went to see Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

"He told me to tell everyone that he hasn't had his medicine in nine days and hasn't eaten today because DSS says they don't have money to buy him food," tweeted Ejimakor.
