Abubakar addressed a PDP presidential campaign event in Awka, Anambra's capital, on Thursday.
Before the rally started, the former vice president met with Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra, and said that he was an "excellent governor."
He said that during the meeting, Soludo made a number of requests, including that federal roads be built in the state if the PDP wins.
"When we got there today, we went to see their governor, Professor Soludo. He told me, "I know you're going to work, but make sure that all the federal roads that go through Anambra State are fixed."
"I told him I would do it," she said.
He told her, "Make sure you stop our erosion, because Anambra is the world's erosion capital." "Erosion is destroying our farms, homes, and everything else we have."
"This is a massive project. I told him I would do that, and I kept my promise. And you already know that I have worked with Soludo before. He is a great Nigerian patriot.
"Your leader is very good." He also asked me about the Onitsha port, and I told him that this time, the River Niger will be dredged and the Onitsha port will work.
"We are also going to help Anambra industrialise so that our young men and women can find as many jobs as possible in the state."
Abubakar also said that if he is elected, he will work to make sure that his successor is from the south-east.
"I will be a stepping stone for an Igbo to become president of this country. I've shown it by the fact that this is the third time I've run with an Igbo man. "If you really want to elect a president, then vote for the Atiku-Okowa ticket," he said.
"I want to thank you, the people of Anambra State, for this warm welcome. I never thought I'd see so many people in Anambra State, and believe me, we're not going to forget you. We are going to give you a lot.
"And you know, I promised to set aside $10 billion to help our young men and women start their own small and medium businesses so they can be independent."
