NEW: Alleged victim asks court to overturn bio-data release to Ekweremadu

The applicant is asking the court to stop the defendants, their agents, privies, staff, and workers from giving Ekweremadu and his wife any information about him that could help them defend themselves in a London court.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), the Comptroller General, the Nigeria Immigration Service, Stanbic IBTC Bank, the United Bank for Africa (UBA), and the Nigeria Inter-bank Settlement System are all named as defendants in the motion. The alleged violation of fundamental rights is what the motion is about.

In a motion on notice that he just filed through his lawyer, Bamidele Igbinedion, Ukpo asked Justice Inyang Eden Ekwo to change the order that gave Ekweremadu and his wife permission to use his biographical information in their defence in London's Uxbridge Magistrate Court.

His complaint was that neither he nor the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), who is the top lawyer for the Federation, were brought into the case.

When Ukpo asked about the steps that led to the order, he said that his basic rights to a fair hearing and personal privacy had been severely violated.

David Ukpo is the alleged victim of the alleged organ harvesting scandal involving Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice. He has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to reverse its July 1 order for the release of his bio-data to be used in a London court in Ekweremadu's trial.
