President Muhammadu Buhari stated on Tuesday in Washington that the country's youth represent its hope for a better future, and that the government's top goal is to solve their concerns.

President Buhari, in welcoming the Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Forum, Sheikh Al-Mahfoudh Bin Bayyah, and his deputy, Pastor Bob Roberts of the United States, who came to visit him, stated that the foundation's work in promoting interfaith dialogue was as important to the world as it was to Nigeria.

He spoke about the need to create generations of kids devoid of religious fanaticism and bigotry and urged the group to continue focusing on the youth, who are the future.

The president was described in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, as saying, "Your work is very significant in assisting people, especially the youth, to understand one another and be proud of their heritage." This amazing endeavor of yours will assist future generations in making sound plans and coexisting in peace. On our end, we will continue to address our issues, particularly as they pertain to the youth.

"We are vast in size and population and have numerous obstacles, but we are attempting in many areas. In the past seven and a half years, I have given my everything.

The Foundation Secretary-General stated that they had come to tell the President and ask him to attend the Abu Dhabi Foundation's award presentation to him in honour of his exemplary contributions to promoting peace and security.

They explained that the award was consistent with the Foundation's work to prevent religious extremism and promote peaceful coexistence and discussion amongst all religions.
