The Abia branch of the NMA noted in a communiqué released after its meeting by Dr. Abali Isaiah, Chairman, and Dr. Daniel Ekeleme, Secretary, that doctors employed by ABSUTH and HMB are due salaries that are 21 and 25 months behind, respectively.
That the 17th day has passed since the National Executive Council (NEC) of NMA gave ABSG a 21-day deadline to pay the aforementioned salary arrears on November 17.
"ABSG has not yet proven that it is seriously committed to the program."
that the difficulties facing the doctors who work with ABSUTH and HMB are currently beyond comprehension.
The NMA renewed her demand to the Abia government while denouncing the non-payment of doctors at ABSUTH and HMB.
The association asked that doctors receive their due compensation before calling off the strike.
It insisted that all doctors in Abia State who work for the federal, state, or private sectors will go on a complete and indefinite strike if the aforementioned demands are not met by December 8 at the latest.
