she said that her daughter, Amara, who is in a secondary school, dropped them off at their school before proceeding to hers. She noted that the children were left alone in the school compound because none of the teachers had arrived. This situation gave the captors the opportunity to perpetrate the evil act.
Speaking further, she narrated how a community member returned the uniform of her missing grandson, which he claimed to have seen at the shrine. On going to the shrine, they still couldn't find anyone there, not even the person in charge of the shrine.
At this stage, she was forced to report the matter to the police. In her words, she said, "I rushed to Eziowelle Police Station and lodged a complaint, and consequently, the police first arrested the person that brought the uniforms, and in the end, investigations revealed that it was his elder brother, whose name is Onyedika, that transported those children, together with some others at large, in his tricycle. He is a tricycle operator. They lured the innocent children from the school with packets of biscuits. "
Mrs. Okonkwo revealed that the police arrested the school proprietor and the children's class teacher but noted that the case has been witnessing setbacks since then.
