Imo market women told to vote to ensure children's futures.

Market women in Imo State have been encouraged by a group called the Pan African Women Project to get their permanent voter cards (PVCs) and take part in the upcoming general elections in 2023.

This, according to the group, would make it possible for them to elect credible leaders of their choice during the elections. These leaders, it was explained, would provide good governance and effective leadership for the benefit of the people while also ensuring a prosperous future for their children.

The gender-based group, which is led by Dr. Eno Udensi and which made the call during its sensitization campaign on PVC collection to the World Bank Market in Owerri yesterday, stated that women should see reasons to play active roles in determining who occupies elective positions in the country. This call was made during the campaign on PVC collection that the group was conducting.

Women and young people, who make up a larger percentage of Nigeria's electorate, should not be discouraged from participating in the general elections in 2023 to ensure that their votes are counted, as the international organisation believes this to be the case.
