The agreement is one of the highlights of the meeting between Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his Vietnamese counterpart, Madam Võ Thị Ánh Xuân as part of Nigeria’s Vice President’s three-day official visit to the Southeast Asian nation, the first high-level trip from the Presidency since 2005 when then President Olusegun Obasanjo visited.

According to a statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, Mr. Laolu Akande, the need for improved collaboration between Nigeria and Vietnam was the focus of the bilateral meeting.

The statement said to deepen the long-standing relations between them, both countries planned to work together more, particularly in the areas of digital economy, telecommunications, agriculture and trade, among others, for the mutual benefit of the citizens.
