Lt. Col. Joseph Njoku, who serves as the head of staff for the Directorate of Chaplain Services for the Nigerian Army, says that the country is dangerous and needs capable leaders to steer it in the proper path so that it can be saved from the difficulties it is currently facing.

This is what the military officer said at the Anchor Leadership Academy's graduation and first-ever convocation in Ipaja, Lagos. He stated that Nigerians could not pretend that the country is safe given the country's egregious security issues.

"Nigerians cannot pretend to admit that the country is safe with challenges of kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, and terrorism ravaging the country coupled with the unpalatable state of the economy," stated Mr. Njoku. "Hence, the country needs the right leadership to give her a sense of direction." The army officer made the remarks ahead of the 2023 general elections, in which Nigerians will cast ballots to elect a new leader.
