The chairman of the Imo Football Association, Mazi Amanze Uchegbulam, has pleaded with the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, and the minister of sports, Mr Sunday Dare, to save the life of the ailing former captain of the Super Eagles, Henry Nwosu.

Nwosu, a native of Owerri North, Imo State, was the previous captain of the Super Eagles and is regarded as one of Nigeria's most outstanding midfielders.

In a statement signed by his Media Officer Angela Nkwo-Akpolu, the Imo FA Chairman pleaded with Governor Uzodimma and Minister Dare to swiftly intervene and aid the ill Ex-international who gave his all for the country during his prime.

The statement continues, "Despite spending millions of Naira on therapy, it pains me much to see Henry in this condition. I implore Governor Uzodimma and Mr. Sunday Dare to quickly intervene and aid him in gaining access to appropriate health treatment. We must not desert him now that he requires our full support.

Henry was a pleasure to watch throughout his time with the disbanded NNB, ACB, Iwuanyanwu Nationale, and Super Eagles. He will forever be a living legend. I urge all Nigerians of good will to assist him at this time.

"You may contact him through his sister, Mrs. Kate Kogolo née Nwosu. Please, let's join forces to preserve Henry's health. Uchegbulam urged the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), the Minister of Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare, the governor of Imo state, and all Nigerians of goodwill to rally around Nwosu to save his life.

The head of the Imo FA also extended gratitude to all who had assisted the football star thus far.

According to information obtained by DAILY POST, the former footballer had been experiencing heart-related health issues and had spent millions seeking treatment in Imo State without success.
