Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), stated that investigations had been initiated into the matter.
He stated that no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
The victims, identified as Victor and Decency, were discovered dead in their room on Wednesday.
Their deaths were discovered when their neighbors raised the alarm and their room was broken into.
The incumbent Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Students Union Government (SUG), Decency, was rumored to be running for re-election.
Eyewitnesses say that one of the people who died threw up blood, and the other had a white substance in his nose.
The revelation has given rise to suspicions that the pair may have been poisoned.
In the meantime, university officials have acknowledged the occurrence but stated that the cause of death has not been determined.
The Public Relations Officer of MOUAU, Mrs. Adanma Odefa, said that the police had taken their bodies away.
She added that the deceased's parents had been contacted.
Her words: "All we know is that two pupils were discovered deceased in their rooms."
"The police have removed their bodies to the morgue, and whatever remains is for the deceased's parents."
We have informed the families, so we will not discuss anything further.
