According to Umahi, the state's first civilian governor, Egwu, will be embarrassed at the polls if he does not follow his advice.
On Saturday, Governor Umahi delivered Egwu the advise at an APC Local Government Area Rally at Ohaukwu Local Government Headquarters 135, Ezzamgbo.
He denounced the circumstance in which a significant benefactor of equity and justice, Senator Egwu, would advocate for the return of power to the South after eight years, claiming that such a move would destabilize the State's political equation and peace.
"I am ashamed that someone from Ebonyi North would feature in an advertisement with someone from my place who is wanting to replace me after eight years.
"Having begun the journey in the North, equity requires that it return to the North after the Central and South have had their turns."
Governor Umahi urged the people to reciprocate the Izzi people's goodwill by voting for the party's Governorship and Senatorial candidates in the upcoming general elections.
Mrs. Rachel Umahi, the Governor's wife, urged the people to work hard to maintain their leadership position in the state by supporting the candidacy of Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru and other APC candidates ahead of the elections.
"My dear good people of Ohaukwu, remember that leadership of our State began here; do not let that status elude you."
Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru, the APC Governorship Candidate, urged to the people to reward the Izzi people's support throughout the years by voting for him and the APC Senatorial Candidate in the election.
