Angry youths protesting the murder of a man in Nnobi are claimed to have set fire to two houses, destroying property worth millions of naira, in order to express their outrage at the town's recurrent murders.

Lotanna, a father of two children and a prominent disc jockey known as DJ Lota Kid, was reportedly stabbed to death in his hometown of Awuda Nnobi on Wednesday night by an alleged yahoo boy named Jukwa Ese.

Jukwa Ese and two unidentified brothers reportedly beat the victim to a pulp before Jukwa Ese grabbed a dagger and fatally stabbed DJ Lota Boy in the ribs, private parts, chest, and shoulder, resulting in his quick death.

After murdering DJ Lota Boy, the three perpetrators fled the scene to avoid being apprehended, which angered the young people.

According to sources, the youths proceeded in search of Jukwa Ese and the other assailants, but when they could not find them, they set fire to his home.

The youths also set fire to the home of an anonymous claimed accomplice who supported the fleeing murders with his motorcycle as he noticed them leave the site of the crime.

When approached by the Anambra State Police Command's Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ikenga Tochukwu labelled the occurrence as a homicide.

"The crime is currently under investigation; no suspects are currently in custody, but attempts are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects." It is a murder case. "Good day," remarked the PPRO, Ikenga Tochukwu.
