During the opening of the national convention of the Ultimate Business Women And Farmers Association of Nigeria (UBWFAN) yesterday in Awka, Anambra State, Echeng affirmed that the command is battle-ready to combat any kind of lawlessness during the election.
He stated, "We recognise that there is no such thing as a flawless society, but with the degree of preparedness of the command, we are more confident in our ability to quell incidences of insecurity in Anambra State."
"I strongly urge you all to obtain your PVCs and fulfil your civic duties as law-abiding residents of the nation," he urged.
The police chief encouraged the mothers to instruct their children in moral conduct, saying that appropriate parenting is the cornerstone of society's fight against crime.
In his opening remarks, the event's chairman, Chief Leo Nkameme, stated that women are no longer limited to the kitchen and that they now contribute significantly to the socioeconomic growth of society.
The national president of the group, Hon. Nkiru Nwagbo, stated that the organisation has developed care programmes for vulnerable women, such as widows and those with a variety of infirmities.
Nwagbo elaborated that the group has empowered women on multiple levels, which has altered their perspective on life's obstacles.
Similarly, the national patron of the organisation, Professor Mrs. Chinyere Okunna, hailed the women's organisation as having a significant impact on the growth and development of women and society.
