In a news conference held over the weekend by party leaders in the Orlu zone, the group scoffed at Ihedioha's audacious desire to oust every party leader in order to secure the party's Governorship nomination after two fruitless attempts and warned him to stay away from the zone.
Amb Iwuoha Ofonagoro, Chief Damian Nzeribe, and Dr (Mrs) Akwuiwu Josephine, speaking on behalf of others, expressed outrage that after Dr Onyereri's victory at the Appeal Court, the other two candidates, Hon Jerry Alagboso and Dr ThankGod Ezeani, decided to withdraw the suit. Amb Iwuoha Ofonagoro, Chief Damian Nzeribe, and Dr. (Mrs.) Akwuiwu Josephine argued that Ihedioha has dug his political grave by refusing the Orlu people the opportunity to have a senatorial candidate in the 2023 election, and hence should not consider entering the zone for the campaign.
"What motivation do Ihedioha, Irona, Ugwu, and their accomplices in the Orlu Zone have to go this far?” How would they prefer that our party not be on the ballot if neither Senator Ostia Izunaso of the APC nor Chief Charles Ahize of the Labour Party has their support? How could our party's presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, receive 25% of the vote in the Orlu zone without a Senatorial candidate? People in the Orlu zone will continue to designate Ihedioha and his collaborator's persona non grata until they answer these questions. They capitulated.
According to them, all their efforts, money investments, time, and commitment to elect a guy who can embrace every Orlu zone resident have been squandered on the altar of selfishness, greed, and malice, assuring Ihedioha of their people's determination to exact payback for just cause.
Further, Orlu zone PDP officials and stakeholders urged party members across the state not to be overly enthusiastic about Emeka Ihedioha's political ambitions, stating that it would be impossible for an evil, wicked, or vengeful individual to seize or maintain power in Imo state.
