Ude, who revealed this information to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Saturday, stated that the new discoveries would replace the professionals when they retire.
According to him, grassroots talent discovery is required to keep the state competitive as boxers leave for other states and abroad.
"Enugu State professional boxers leave for greener pastures abroad, necessitating replacement; this was the purpose of the activity.
"For the time being, the state's boxers are in serious preparation for the next National Youth Games, at which I am confident they will do the state proud," he stated.
The 7th National Youth Games will be hosted by Delta from February 8 to February 18.
Ude stated that the young game would precede the grassroots talent scouting exercise, noting that it would begin after the games.
"The boxing technical team will scour the outskirts of the state, including schools and communities, in an effort to uncover future champions.
"We are all products of the grassroots, and so the only solution to the fading boxing in the country remains grassroots discovery," stated the coach.
He urged the state administration to reintroduce or revive school sports in order to make their lives easier and to find talents in other sports.
