Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been held by Nigerian authorities since June 2021, according to NDIIGBOWORLDWIDE.
Once, Governor Soludo met him in Department of State Services (DSS) custody in Abuja.
Saturday, during the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) campaign launch, Soludo explicitly urged the Federal Government to quickly and unconditionally release Kanu.
In response to the governor's request, however, Ekpa suggested that the Anambra governor contact President Muhammadu Buhari directly.
“Tell @CCSoludo demanding the release of MNK is not on social media. He have the direct contact to Buhari, Malami all the Fulanis that he represent. If he is serious about it, he knows what to do not coming on social media shouting like a ram ? like oke ebini”

He tweeted, "Tell @CCSoludo that the release of MNK is not being demanded on social media."
"He has direct communication with Buhari, Malami, and all the Fulanis he represents. If he is serious about it, he knows better than to go on social media and yell like a ram, like oke ebini does."
