Peter Obi Replies Tinubu’s ‘Mr Stingy’ Comment

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), expressed his anger on Sunday over recent remarks made by Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), referring to him as "Mr. Stingy."

Saturday at his campaign speech in Ondo State, Tinubu reportedly stated that the former governor of Anambra State conserved money instead of lives.

Tinubu compared Peter Obi to parents who are miserly with their money and leave their children to suffer.

Obi, however, stated during an interview on Channels TV that the corruption perception index is one of the factors destroying the nation.

Further refuting Tinubu's statement, the LP candidate argued that no one can condemn him for refusing to take public money and questioned when saving became a problem.

He stated, "I appreciate it when my opponents speak.” Let us talk about corruption. The corruption perception index, which measures how you handle public assets, nepotism, how you distribute land, how you manage your money, and everything else, is one of the factors currently destroying our country.
