Chief Godwin Osakwen, speaking to journalists Thursday at his Palace, Igwe Iweka, flanked by some of his cabinet members, including the Odu Nkataego of Obosi, said it was the same notorious cultists who assassinated the President-General of Obosi Town Union, Chief Ikechukwu Okolon, in cold blood on Monday, January 2, this year, causing serious tension in the area for two days.
The monarch stated that the cultists' activities have grown so unfathomable that the law-abiding citizens of Obosi no longer sleep with their two eyes closed, to the point where they kill and maim people on a daily basis.
According to him, they have sent the identities of the bandits and raging cultists to law enforcement agencies for arrest, questioning, and maybe curtailing their criminal activity in the area.
He pleaded with Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the heads of the state's security agencies, including the police, DSS, Army, and Navy, to come to their aid before the deadly cultists wipe out the entire citizenry, especially now that the royal cabinet, in collaboration with the town union, has submitted the names of the bandits to law enforcement.
