Thursday, Uzodimma made this claim during an interview with Channels Television's Politics Today.
He stated, "Senator Bola Tinubu is the presidential nominee of the ruling APC party. Since 1970, when the civil war ended, the Igbos have demanded the Second Niger Bridge, despite government after government making unfulfilled promises.
"The previous Christmas was celebrated with enthusiasm, when Igbos from beyond the South-East travelled across the Second Niger Bridge. That is sufficient for the whole Igbo population to vote for the continuation of Buhari's legacy."
Uzodimma, who is the coordinator of Tinubu's campaign in the South-East, stated that the majority of federal highways in the region have received adequate attention and budgetary allocation, and commuters no longer endure the same hardships as they did in the past.
"It's not about whether Bola Tinubu comes from the same place as me; it's about the programmes, to the extent that our great party's manifesto has convinced and won over the people. "I am certain that the APC is the party to beat in Nigeria," he stated.
Uzodimma also stated that he is running a cohesive campaign for all APC candidates in the South-East, expressing confidence in the success of the party's candidates for governorship, House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats.
The Federal Government temporarily opened the bridge to traffic on December 15, 2022, in order to improve the experience of holiday travellers pending the complete completion of the project.
The 1,6-kilometer-long bridge connects the states of Anambra and Delta.
The Second Niger Bridge was first proposed by National Party of Nigeria candidate Shehu Shagari during the 1978/79 election campaign (NPN).
