Four accidents in Bauchi, Imo, and Oyo states killed 22 and injured several others.

In Bauchi State, two auto accidents killed 11 and injured 16, while drunk drivers killed 6 in Imo and 5 in Oyo.

In one collision on the Bauchi-Maiduguri Expressway, seven persons died and 14 were critically injured, Ndiigboworldwide reported.

Yusuf Abdullahi, sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Bauchi State, confirmed the accident and said 7 people died and 14 were injured.

Two cars, a VW Sharoon minibus with the registration number DRZ 47 YZ and a Fiat Pick-up van, were involved in the accident around 1 km from Badaromo Village along the Bauchi-Maiduguri Expressway.

Sector commander: speeding and worn-out tyres caused the accident.

Abdullahi added, "The crash involved 21 people, 18 male adults and 3 female adults, of whom 7 were killed on the spot and 14 were injured.

He said FRSC agents transported injured victims to ATBUTH, Bauchi, for medical care and dead victims to the mortuary for confirmation.

In another accident involving two motorcycles in Bauchi State's Bogoro LGA, four people died.

Four motorcyclists died in a head-on collision at an intersection, according to an eyewitness. Ndiigboworldwide found that one of the motorcycles was operating without headlights before the incident, making it harder for the other rider to see.

Daniel Haruna, a victim's family member, verified the crash and said his son died in it.

"Yesterday evening, he and his companion left home to go to Kurum, but I received a call saying they were in an accident.

I visited his hospital bedridden body. We're preparing their graves as we speak. The injured are being treated at Bogoro's primary hospital.

Markus Bitrus Lusa, caretaker committee chairman of Bogoro LGA, called the incident sad and urged drivers to be careful over the holidays.

Lusa urged drivers to be cautious at night and turn on their lights.

The chairman prayed for the dead and consoled their families.

Imo State drunk driver killed six commuters.

Eyewitnesses say six individuals died and others were brought to hospitals.

The event between the Amafor and Obosima villages in Ohaji/Egbema generated tension.

Dominic Okpor, a relative of Chidiadi Ogu, informed our correspondent that the motorist hit his cousin when she was riding a motorcycle.

Her cousin was brought to a local hospital, where she was denied and directed to Owerri's Federal Medical Center, where she died.

"The tragedy took my cousin. The careless motorist hit my cousin's motorcycle-riding sister. "They referred us to FMC Owerri, where she died," he said.

The motorist was apprehended at Ohaji police headquarters, he said.

"The intoxicated driver has been arrested," he stated. He's at Ohaji police headquarters. Six individuals are dead and others are hospitalised.

Another story claimed the suspect killed his victims purposefully. "Foul play," he said. Who is knocking people down from Amafor to Obosima and running into them in the market? We suspect foul play.

On New Year's Day, a man drove his automobile into a group of partygoers in Oyo State, killing five.

Ndiigboworldwide reported that the Akinmorin community in Afijio, Oyo State, was in mourning on New Year's Day.

Five individuals were killed and four badly injured, reports say.

Eyewitnesses that the victims were holding a New Year's open celebration in Baba Ode when the driver sped up. Many of them considered him a buddy because he frequented the area.

Some partying buddies, surprised by his speed, criticised him for driving so fast at night when residents were returning from church and mosques after their service.

The confrontation reportedly turned into an altercation, infuriating the inebriated young man.

"After elders intervened, the young man entered his car." He swore to spill blood after the confrontation. Eyewitness: "He started the car and sped into the dancing friends, knocking about 10 people down."

Three of his buddies were arrested during the event, but his whereabouts are unknown.

Superintendent Adewale Osifeso, who confirmed the event, said an investigation has begun and updates would be released.
