Abia governor election: PDP tackles Nwafor of the YPP

Mr. Uche Aguoru, the Peoples Democratic Party's director of new media, has expressed disapproval of what he called the opposition parties' ongoing falsehoods and propaganda against the PDP's candidate for governor of Abia State, Professor Uche Ikonne.

Aguoru, particularly lambasted the Young Progressives Party (YPP) Governorship candidate in the State, Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor.

He claimed that the opposition candidate had jettisoned issue-based campaigns and resorted to sponsoring and unleashing a series of calumnious attacks on the Ikonne, aimed at currying undeserved sympathy ahead of next year’s general elections in Abia State.

His words: “I am never cowed or subdued by any form of intimidation. I have been receiving all manner of threats from some cowardly unknown elements who have been creeping into my inbox and calling me on phone to threaten me for criticizing you. All that won’t make me stop asking you to give an account of the jobs you did as a Government contractor who now wants to govern me.

“Just one response to all the falsehood, lies and propaganda that you have been sponsoring and enjoying from your media hirelings, you rushed to the DSS with a petition to compel me to stop the interrogation of your activities as a government contractor who handled virtually all Abia government contracts across all sectors from cleaning, road construction, building construction, supplies, etc.

“That shows how intolerant you will be to criticism if given the impossible opportunity to become a governor. I thought that you would have copied the spirit of tolerance from your friend and brother, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu who had tolerated and allowed everybody free political air that your team has grossly abused”.

He added, “as the saying goes, he who lives in a glass house should not throw stones and if you are sure you can’t stand the heat, please leave the kitchen”.
