Gunmen set fire to the homes of Pascal Agbodike, who is the deputy speaker of Anambra State, and one of the traditional rulers in the state.

Also, two buildings that belonged to Nze Denis Muomaife, the President-General of Osumoghu, were destroyed.

So, people from the Anambra South senatorial zone and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) met in the state to talk about the general elections in 2023.

The meeting was important because it was about how to teach people how to vote and how to look at the security situation in the state.

Queen Elizabeth Agwu, the state's Resident Electoral Commissioner, asked the people involved if elections would still be held in those communities, given how dangerous they are right now.

Denis Muomaife, who is the President-General of the Osumoghu community in Nnewi South, said that two of his buildings were burned down by people he didn't know about two weeks ago.

"Not only that, but the houses of the community's traditional leader and the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly for Ihiala II Constituency were also set on fire," he said.

Muomaife, on the other hand, said that the community had set up a Peace and Reconciliation Committee to deal with these kinds of problems quickly.

Queen Elizabeth Agwu, who works for the REC, told the people in the room that it was time for the young people in Anambra State to take control of their land and protect the people.

She said that the people from Igboland, not people from other countries, were to blame for the instability in Igboland. She also said, "We must hold the 2023 election; it must be honest, and the votes must count." Now is the time for young people in different places to stand up and protect their people.

"We have both things and people ready for the election." We need to get their permanent voter cards from the communities (PVCs). Materials that are not sensitive have already been sent out.

"Anything that could make the election in Anambra South fail should be fought against." Anyone caught doing strange things during the election will not be around to tell the story.

"I'm counting on the president-generals and traditional rulers in all of the communities to keep their areas safe during the election." "Let us avoid suppressing ourselves," Agwu said.

The REC also said that the 2023 election was important to Nigeria's existence as a country. "This country is in bad shape right now, which is why we're talking about unity."

"Everyone in this country cares about and is affected by voter education." "It affects us in so many ways, but the main problem here is that we love to make money," she said.
