INEC: 33% of Abia's eligible voters cast ballots

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has talked about how many eligible voters in Nigeria don't bother to vote. Abia State is one of the states where eligible voters don't bother to vote.

Prof. Ike Uzochukwu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Abia State, said at a meeting on Thursday with the Abia State Council and the executive members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists that only 33% of eligible voters in Abia State voted in the elections.

The REC says that 77 per cent of people in the country don't care about voting. They also say that the commission will come up with a way to get more people to vote during elections. He also said that this was done to encourage good government.

Medical experts showed men how they can get rid of bad erections, small and embarrassing manhoods, and infertility problems without using drugs.

The head of the electoral umpire in Abia State called this a problem that hurts good governance in the country. He also said that making money off of the election process is another way that the right people don't get elected to positions of power.

He thought that buying votes and bribing election officials had slowed down the process of holding a fair and honest election in Nigeria.

The Abia REC said that people are buying votes in Abia State. He said that his office in Umuahia had heard that some shady politicians are now buying the personal voter cards (PVCs) of some people to use them for their own purposes.

"I don't know what they plan to do with them, since the election results that will be sent to our portal will be impossible to change." "Well, let's see how they do," he said. "But it's better to tell these people who are giving their PVCs to politicians that their fate is in their own hands."

He said that INEC will fully use technology in the 2023 elections. He said that the bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS), which verifies PVCs, and the result viewing device (iREV) will change the game.

He also said that the electoral body will strictly follow the rule that "no PVC, no vote," so Abians should try to get their PVCs between January 6 and January 15, 2023, when the exercise will be held all over Abia.

Prof. Uzochukwu was upset about the amount of election violence in Nigeria. He blamed it on a system that doesn't allow people who feel wronged to talk about how they feel and then come up with solutions.
