The Police Command in Anambra has made it illegal to sell and use fireworks called "knockout."This was said in a statement on Thursday by DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who is the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Anambra Command.

Ikenga said that the order was part of a plan to keep people safe and keep the peace in the state. He said that using knockouts was not only annoying and bad for public order, but it could also cause unnecessary fear, worry, and other dangers, especially during this harmattan season.

He said that the act could give criminals a way out of jail after they have done something wrong. He said that CP Echeng Echeng, who is in charge of police in the state, has banned the sale and use of fireworks, knockouts, and firecrackers. "This plan will improve a police strategy that was already in place to deal with emergencies and security concerns related to Christmas and the end of the year.

"The CP also asks parents and guardians to tell their children and wards not to buy or use fireworks, firecrackers, knockouts, and other similar items, because the ban is for everyone's safety.

"People who sell these illegal items should look for other ways to make money," he said. The CP says that the Command will do everything it can to make sure there is no security breach during the holiday season. "We ask the people of Anambra to be careful and aware of their safety, and to report any strange movements," he said.
