So, the Board has decided that registration for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will start on Saturday, January 14, and go through Tuesday, February 14, 2023. This doesn't include registration for Direct Entry (DE) application documents, which would start on Monday, February 20, and go through Thursday, April 20, 2022.
The board also decided that its optional mock UTME will be held on March 16, 2023.
At the time of registration, candidates should know that they will have to pay N1,000 as a service charge for CBT centres to run the mock exam. This is to prevent a situation in which candidates say they want to take the mock UTME, causing the different centres to invest time and money in them, only for them to fail the real exam.
With the new plan, candidates show their interest by paying for the mock exam when they sign up for the UTME. This way, the centres don't lose money whether candidates show up or not.
Also, after thinking about its other obligations, the board decided that the 2023 UTME would be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023. It is expected to end on Monday, May 12, 2023.
The Board advises all candidates who want to register for the 2023 UTME to start making their profiles (creating a profile code) right away, before the official start of the registration process, so that they don't get stuck in a line when registration starts.
