According to Nwankwo, "I conceived and initiated the centre as a result of the difficulties my constituents face in skill development and web information access."
In this age in which the world has become a global village, efforts must be made to provide our people with ICT facilities. As my widow's mite for skill development, acquisition, and ICT education in my constituency, I took on the project, constructed it, and equipped it.
The ICT centre is completely outfitted with cutting-edge technology for ICT experiences, training, skill development, and acquisition.
"The capacity of the centre is 250 computers, but there are currently only 150 fully functional and installed systems."
Nwankwo, who is also the senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), stated that the centre would empower over 350 youths annually in a variety of fields, adding that it is not only open to the people of Enugwu Ukwu, but the entire Anambra Central senatorial district.
He expressed hope that the centre would provide employment opportunities for the youths in his constituency and noted that discussions are currently underway regarding the possibility of using the facility as an examination centre for national exams such as the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the National Examination Council (NECO).
Governor Charles Soludo stated, during the project's inauguration, that such a concept is essential to the development of Anambra State's youth.
He remarked, "Rather than wasting money on frivolities, such funds can be invested in the development of the younger generation's skills."
The work of the Honorable Dozie Nwankwo has had a multiplier effect on the socioeconomic development of our beloved state and the nation as a whole.
"To secure the future, I urge politicians, businessmen and women, and private sector leaders to invest more in the vocational training and education of our younger generation.
We are all aware of the challenges facing our economy, as well as those facing other nations. In the interim, the majority of nations have become more proactive in their efforts to combat youth crime and unemployment by investing more in vocational education and skill development."
