Enumerating the growing number of businesses and investments that have settled in Enugu State under his administration, Governor Ugwuanyi stated that his administration has continued to serve as a business and investment enabler through the provision of a favourable business and investment environment supported by peace, security, consistent and favourable policies, a friendly tax regime, robust infrastructure, and professional regulatory oversight.
The governor asserted that, since its inception, his government has been devoted to fostering a business-friendly atmosphere in the state and adopting business-friendly programmes to encourage private investment, improve ease of doing business, and increase economic activity.
In his separate speeches at the inaugurations of Hard Break Plus Hotel, Enugu, and Divine FM 101.3, Enugu, Governor Ugwuanyi expressed his delight that the businesses are eloquent demonstrations of his administration's dedication to leveraging the private sector for job and wealth creation and revenue generation in the state.
According to the governor, the new hotel in New Haven, Enugu, is a significant boost to Enugu's hospitality reputation and a significant contribution to the nation's tourism industry.
He was confident that the hotel could compete favourably with its counterparts anywhere in the world, "given its tranquil atmosphere, exquisite furnishings, and superior services."
Governor Ugwuanyi congratulated the board and management of the establishment for extending the boundaries of their luxury brand to Enugu, and he used the occasion to urge investors, especially Enugu natives, to emulate the aku luo uno philosophy of the co-CEOs of Hard Break Hotels Limited, Chief Okechukwu Anthony Okafor and Chief Ikenna Okafor, and to explore the limitless business opportunities in the tourism sector of the state.
Governor Ugwuanyi told the management of Divine FM 101.3 Enugu, led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mrs. Crystal Jane Cosmas, "your decision to locate your radio station in Enugu is, therefore, a wise one."
The governor noted that the Enugu State One-Stop-Investment-Centre (OSIC), which falls under the Enugu State Investment Development Authority (ESIDA), streamlines the bureaucratic procedures necessary for establishing a firm in the state.
Governor Ugwuanyi noted that numerous business and investment promoters have taken advantage of the unique opportunity by considering Enugu as their preferred site.
In her presentation, Dr. Mrs. Cosmas, MD/CEO of Divine FM 101.3 Enugu, thanked Governor Ugwuanyi for coming in person to launch the radio station in Trans Ekulu, Enugu, as well as his administration's tremendous collaboration and support for companies to flourish in Enugu State.
She remarked that the radio station is pleased to be in Enugu and is committed to offering high-quality services to the state's residents.
Bishop Obi Onubogu, the Presiding Bishop of Rock Cathedral, Asata, Enugu, and Dr. D.C Duru, the Chairman of Divine 21st Century Communications Limited, were present at the ceremony.
