Mr. Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant to its presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, said that Tinubu has a "shifty persona" and "lives in shadowy garb."
The party asked Nigerians to vote for Atiku and put the PDP back in power. It also called Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, "a candidate whose profile is more based on inflated edification of disbeliefs."
Shaibu's statement, which was a response to an earlier news release by Tinubu's campaign spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, also attacked the APC, calling it a party that "has pushed Nigeria deeper into the abyss of poverty, insecurity, and debt."
It also asked the party that has been in charge since May 2015 to "acknowledge one aspect of Nigeria's national life where they have not changed the country's fortunes compared to what they inherited in 2015."
