Ekpa announced the end of the five-day stay-at-home order in a video posted on YouTube on Wednesday night. He called it "historic and successful" for Biafraland. In another new development, one of our reporters saw that Ekpa wrote in the video's description that the south-east region will not have elections in 2023. He called this a "sacrifice" that the people of Biafra must make.
He also wrote that by 2023, "ending Nigeria" must be done. The caption says, "Getting rid of Nigeria by 2023 is a must! Biafraland will not have a general election in 2023. This is a sacrifice and a job that all Biafrans around the world must do. I want every Biafran to watch this show and share it with as many people as possible.
"I am Simon Ekpa, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's disciple on the restoration of Biafra." Ndiigboworldwide says that many people in the South-East have been killed in the last five days because of the five-day "sit-at-home" order. In a video that went viral, Ekpa told the people of the South-East to stay home and fast from December 9–14, 2022.
The people who carried out this order killed people and destroyed homes and businesses in the area. Even though IPOB's Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, denied that the group ever told people to stay home on the days listed above, violence continued in the area. Also, Kanu, the leader of the IPOB who was arrested, spoke out against the attacks going on in the eastern part of the country after Ekpa told everyone to stay home for five days. After that, Kanu's brother, Emmanuel, also said that Ekpa had acted like a "paid agent" and was against the attacks.
Thousands of angry Nigerians are signing a petition calling for Ekpa's arrest and asking the Finnish government, the Nigerian government, and the European Union to do the same.
As of Thursday morning, 2,761 people had signed the petition asking for Ekpa to be arrested for "terrorism and genocide." The petition says, "One Simon Ekpa (also known as Ifeanyi Njoku), a Nigerian who lives in Finland and has Finnish citizenship, has, through proxies, successfully set up and coordinated an armed rebel group in Eastern Nigeria, which he now uses to destroy lives, property, and businesses in Eastern Nigeria."
"He has been seen many times in Finland using his media platforms to tell his armed thugs in Eastern Nigeria to kill millions of people in the area for not following his orders to stay home." Simon is a separatist who wants his state to break away from Nigeria, but he has never been brave enough to come home and lead the war there from the front. He is instead starting to spread fear among his own people, who have turned down his call for secession. "Simon's actions are causing a genocide in the area, and innocent women, children, the elderly, and young people are dying every day." "Sign the petition and share it everywhere to ask the Finnish government, the EU, and the Nigerian government to arrest Mr Simon Ekpa and look into all of his horrible crimes and terror activities in Eastern Nigeria."
