Chief Kalu said this yesterday in Aba South L.G.A. as part of his ongoing ward-round tour. He said that the sector's lack of activity makes him very sad.
The APP candidate for governor said that he chose an academic as his running mate in part because of his unwavering passion for education, which he saw as a way to bring together the rich and the poor.
"I chose a professor as my running mate in part because I care a lot about education." But, sadly, the sector is now in a deep sleep. The son of a rich man and the son of a poor man can eat together at the same table because of education, so my government will take it seriously.
Chief Kalu also said that his government will make primary and secondary school education free and mandatory again to encourage poor parents to send their kids back to school.
Yesterday, the APP tour train went to four ABSIEC wards: Asa ward 2, Umunisii ward 16, Ohazu ward 6, and Imezi ward 5.
The highlight of yesterday's tour was the opening of a secret bridge built by the APP's candidate for the Aba North/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Christopher Igbokwe Okorafor, at Iheorji Avenue by the party's candidate for governor, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, and his running mate, Prof. Osondu Akoma.
