"Until 2023, we will remember that when Dim Ojukwu died, power fell. Most of all, we miss him in Igboland. We miss him because... It's because there aren't enough good leaders in Igboland right now. We have men who are not men in Igboland now.
"What we have now is one less man to compete with. "That's why, in the country right now, there aren't any men who can stand up and speak for the Ndigbo," she said.
She also spoke out against the deaths in Igboland.
"In the history of our people, we have never seen the kinds of crimes and criminals that we see every day in Igboland. Even during the war, we never heard or saw anyone come out with knives and proudly cut someone's throat or neck.
"This is what we see, but why do we see it? We see it because most young people in Nigeria, not just Igbo youth, think that Nigeria has turned into a place where dreams go to die. That Nigeria has become a place with too many hopes and dreams, and when young people look around, they only see wastelands.
"Come to the Southeast, where the government isn't there and there aren't any businesses. So how can you make a legal living when the whole system has broken down?
"We have a total system failure in the economy and security when the government can't guarantee the safety of people's lives, property, and investments."
Mrs. Ojukwu also asked the Federal Government to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB, right away. She said that no country can keep its citizens' dreams from coming true and expect peace.
“I call for the immediate and unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.and I do so firmly convinced that no Nation can hold its people hostage and have peace, it is impossible because peace is freedom and also no nation can hold the dreams of its citizens to ransome and prosper,” she stressed.
She commended the efforts of Leader of MASSOB/BIM Chief Ralph Uwazuruike for keeping the Ojukwu memorial Day alive.
Thousands of MASSOB/BIM supporters stormed Owerri on Saturday to celebrate 11th edition of Dim Odimegwu Ojukwu’s Memorial Day.
As early as 8am thousands of MASSOB/BIM supporters from different parts of Southeast and South South regions came with their cultural troupes to mark the 11th anniversary of Dim Ojukwu memorial day which started in 2012.
