Mr. Julius Nnamani, an attorney, has encouraged the people of Enugu State to vote en masse for People Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate Dr. Peter Mbah in the 2023 elections, noting that he is an asset for effective administration.
He stated that Mbah's commercial achievement as CEO of Pinnacle Oil Gas Ltd has boosted his expertise and diversity.
Nnamani, a native of Enugu State, made the request over the weekend during the launching of the offshore Terminal of Pinnacle Oil and Gas Ltd at the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Lagos.
In an exclusive interview with Vanguard, Nnamani, who was impressed by the calibre of attendees, expressed optimism regarding the leadership abilities of Mbah, who is also a Barrister. He stated that he has no doubt that Mbah, with his experience as a former Finance Commissioner and accolades from reputable organisations, will effect a turnaround in the governance of the coal city state.
Speaking further about the unveiling, which was attended by high dignitaries such as President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Emir of Bichi who is also the Chairman of Pinnacle Oil and Gas, Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero, and Group CEO, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mr. Mele Kyari, Nnamani said Enugu residents should vote massively for Mbah because not voting for him would
He stated, "I'm especially pleased since the CEO of Pinnacle Oil and Gas, Bar. Mbah, who is also the PDP's governorship candidate in Enugu State, has managed the firm to its current height with a high degree of competence.
"I was equally astounded by the calibre of people from all walks of life who came to grace the occasion, including those representing the Presidency and the President himself, who spoke virtually, business leaders from various conglomerates, and some people from our home state, including the Honourable Members of State House of Assembly, Some members of ALGON, and traditional rulers.
"Based on what I saw at the unveiling of the oil outfit, I'm confident that he will deliver. With the level of the competencies he has shown and acquired over time through various educational attainment and having put those experiences into practise by working hard for his company to reach the peak of a very competitive and volatile world of business, I have no doubt that he will perform creditably in the administration of the states, and the only thing leaning against him is the fact that he has never held public office before."
"He also vowed in his campaign platform to turn Enugu State into the African Dubai. I am certain that with his international business connections, he would draw direct foreign investments into the state, therefore creating jobs for the state's teeming jobless young." Although some have argued that success in business does not necessarily translate to success in political administration, I can confidently assert that with his innovative and disruptive experience in both leadership and business, Mbah has elevated himself above other governorship candidates in Enugu State.
"It is axiomatic that in business, decision-making may be easier, whereas in political administration, decision-making does not reside in one man, and thus, different arms of government are involved. However, being the chief executive of a very large business in a competitive and volatile industry will also act as a catalyst for a political leader, because, just as in business, every other arm of government revolves around the person at the helm of affairs, thus the capability and composure of the business executive will
"Similarly, as a Legal Practitioner with other auxiliary and complementary disciplines, he is excellently competent to observe all necessary checks and balances within both the organic and other laws of the land.
Further, Nnamani noted that Mbah's capacity to pick personnel for best performance at the largest offshore oil and gas terminal would be a huge value to him in choosing personnel for optimal performance in the Ministries, agencies, and departments of Enugu State should he be elected in 2023.
"Therefore, I have no doubt in my opinion that, based on what I witnessed today and what others have said about him, he will continue to be an achiever in business and politics.
In addition, as a former commissioner of finance in Enugu State, for which he received an award for his prudent management of resources, to the extent that there were no complaints about how financial issues were allocated to different sectors of the state's economy, he appears to tower over his opponents.
No one will have any doubt that he will achieve enormous success as a result of his education, versatility, and pragmatic approach to business.
Nnamani continued, "And I encourage the good people of Enugu State to vote massively for him, because not voting for him means losing the asset he has exhibited in all aspects."
The CEO of Pinnacle Oil and Gas also spoke, expressing delight at the attendance of dignitaries and, finally, President Buhari, who participated digitally.
Mbah stated, "Pinnacle is driven by the mantra of becoming an innovative organisation."
We have always thought that it is a company's responsibility to search out methods to improve the community.
"Based on this, we began construction on this facility in 2011, resulting in the ultramodern facility we are inaugurating today."
He stated that the project was designed and delivered by some of the world's finest domestic and international vendors.
