The accused, according to the police prosecution, fatally stabbed Eduno in the chest with a knife on Saturday, October 1, 2022, on the Mount Olive Housing Estate in Nkwelle-Ezunaka.
The crime is criminal under Section 274 (1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 36, Vol. II, Revised Laws of Anambra State of Nigeria, 1991, according to the police prosecutor, CSP A.A. Nwano, of the State Criminal Investigations Department.
The prosecutor requested that the accused be held in custody. Pere Oseme, the defence attorney, asked the judge to release his client on bond.
The matter was postponed till January 18, 2023, by the presiding Magistrate, Chigbo, who also directed that the accused be remanded in the Onitsha Custodial Center.
