The sale of forms for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will begin on January 14, 2023, if all other factors remain constant.

The UTME is an annual examination administered by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for candidates seeking admission to Nigerian postsecondary institutions.

According to JAMB, the selling of forms would continue till Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Similarly, Direct Entry (DE) registration would begin on Monday, February 20 and end on Thursday, April 20, 2023, it was stated.

In a statement released late last year, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that the 2023 UTME would begin on Saturday, April 29, 2023, and continue through Monday, May 12, 2023.

JAMB stated that the optional mock-UTME examination will be administered on March 16, 2023. It was noted that interested candidates would be required to pay a service fee of N1,000 to Computer Based Test (CBT) centres for the conduct of the mock examination at the time of registration in order to prevent a situation in which candidates would indicate interest in sitting for the mock-UTME, causing the various centres to commit human and material resources only to not show up on the day of the examination. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB's spokesman, acknowledged in a statement that the decision was made at the conclusion of JAMB's management meeting.
